Arabic is a lovely language and it's not very difficult as long as you practice often. Of course, that's true of all languages, of course.

You might want to start with Modern Standard Arabic (fuṣḥa) and then pick a dialect, but if you want to learn a dialect first then Egyptian and Levantine are the most widely spoken/understood.

Have you never seen Arabic writing, it looks very similar from afar, but close up it's easily decipherable.
