Unironicly is he considered good writer or not? And should I read his stuff? Or is it overated?

He was unbelievably based. He might not have had the flashiest prose style, but no one has explored the psychology of children better than he has, not even Dickens.

Just finished Nine Stories by Salinger and almost every single story has some intensely sexual descriptions of very young children. Given what we know about his personal life, I am now 75% certain this dude was a stone cold, pre-pubescent style pedo who fiercely lusted for 9 year old cunny. Bananafish is literally about a dude who kills himself because his wife is shit and a little girl (he kisses her fucking feet lole) understands him better. Of course he made it ambiguous and that's what makes it a good story that could just be about alienation but come on.

Or am I wrong? The 25% doubt is because he really could have just had a very specific, weirdly niche style/ideas about youth. The dude was cradle robbing in his relationships too though with those young women, dirty old man.
