Not only there were leninist revolutionaries everywhere, they also had nationalists who even got to the point of siding with Japan during WW2.

And the whole "make your actions reflect your perfect society" drivel is everywhere in left-wing movements and it's enfuriating. Working individuals don't have as much power or agency to the point where their individuated behavior is going to set a new pattern of behavior in politics. Peace, harmony, love may seem like components of your "perfect society" and they probably should be, but as a prescriptive set of rules for powerless people this won't succeed in creating change, it will only create the type of citizens that those who do not want change dream of.

In general, it seems that Brand is just one of too many people who are ready to do anything for their utopia except to be hated for it. Robespierre and Lenin didn't have that problem and they achieved more in one generation than filthy hippies have in half a century.

These terms (capitalism, socialism, communism) are absolutely meaningless when thrown around without specification like that because literally nobody uses the academic definition of them anymore
