Nietzsche was a philologist who had a deep understanding and appreciation of the Greek philosophers and playwrights.

So you really can't go wrong by adhering to the classic /lit/ meme START WITH THE GREEKS.

Read Homer.
Read Sophocles,Aeschylus and Euripides. Read Plato, start with his Dialogues concerning the trial and death of Socrates:
>Euthyphro, Apology, Crito, Meno & Phaedo

Then go back to the Presocratics. Particularly focus on Heraclitus whom Nietzsche (and many other philosophers) was particularly fond of.

Then finally go back to Nietzsche, start with either Beyond Good and Evil or Geneology of Morals. Read the rest of Nietzsche's work if you liked those two. Finish with icing on top Thus Spoke Zarathustra.
