Can anyone recommend me any good HP Lovecraft?

my new years resolution is to start reading again, and i realized that i've probably been missing out on a lifetime of Lovecraft.

i'm not too familiar with his work, though I know it has a lot to do with crazy destructive alien gods, and that sounds awesome.

i know call of ctuhlu or whatever is his most famous work, but the idea of a squid-head tentacle monster only seems slightly scary. if you say it really is THAT good, i'll pick it up.
