It's going to take a long fucking to properly Christianize Asia. We're going to have to work through and around literally centuries of this sort of bullshit.

But you know what? We did it in Europe, with the Romans, with the Gauls, with the Goths, with the Franks, etc.. We'll get it done sooner or later. It will just take time. Fortunately, we have all the time in the world. Our only deadline is the Second Coming.

I have no problem insulting the current state of China as a Catholic because the current state of China displays equivalent contempt for the Church. They have demolished churches and cathedrals, they have forced worshipers to pray to pictures of Xi Jinping, they have forced Rome to submit its bishop candidates for review to the CCP, they have destroyed crucifixes and statues of the Blessed Virgin Mary. They have also harassed Christians in Hong Kong and generally treated Christians very poorly.

I have nothing but contempt for China as it currently exists. I would love nothing more than for the entire current government of China to be blown apart in a fiery disaster. I would love for Christianity to sweep across China as it once swept across Rome, and for all those who opposed the Church to be swept away as the enemies of the Church were swept away in the days of the Roman Empire. I have no patience for nor tolerance for China as things stand, since they have no patience for nor tolerance for my Chinese brothers and sisters in Christ.

I'm a Catholic who's interacted with the NRx sphere in the past. It would be pretty silly to criticize China if you're a reactionary. They are, essentially, an aristocracy; the CCP are basically landed gentry. They have governed China pretty well since Mao died, for that matter.

There's no objection to the CCP as such. What one might object to is the particular, specific rule of Xi Jinping. And this is especially the case if you're a Christian, since Xi has tried to clamp down on Christianity in China, including basically strongarming the Catholic Church in China into giving him authority over bishop appointments.

Anyone who crosses the Church needs to burn. But there's no reason the CCP and the Church can't get along, once they've been sufficiently chastened.

I think, on the contrary of that, that if China ever suffers another great defeat Christianity could spread quickly. Whether a military defeat or an economic collapse, anything that undermines the reality the CCP has constructed for the average Chinese person could cascade very quickly into a crisis, one a religion built on conversion could take advantage of.

And of course the Vatican and China have recently reached an accord when it comes to nominating bishops, so Catholicism may begin to have a stronger presence in the country as well.
