So essentially if you renounce obligations and do whats important for you, one will find deep happiness? Is Hesse explaining that life is what you make it or that you will be you and if you look at yourself as part of a whole you will be happier? I've read Narcissus and Goldmund and just finished Siddhartha but still don't think I grasp Hesse's philosophy, could someone break it down for me?
