What are some substantial Christian literature? And yes, I have read the bible.

Since this board is the closest it's going to get to a philosophy board, here we go. I think free will doesn't exist in both scientific and religious context. The former because if evolution is a valid theory, then our behaviors are molded through the process of evolution, and all the actions we take are the product of our genetics, controlling our actions, For example, the reason people don't go around killing each other for personal gains is because over time, the passive humans that didn't get into conflicts survived, then reproduced again and again to form the current state of human behavior. If God created us all, free will can't exist because no matter what decision we take, it is under the control of the divine. If it is true that God created humans with a mind of their own, we are still under control because our decision making ability is created by an external authority with a consciousness of its own, God. For example, if humans code a machine, its actions are under human control, and it lacks free will just like humans.
