The real issue, is to develop a latent power: the power of speculative thought.
This is the same power which gives the mystic bliss, and the unprepared insanity. But Hegel leads us to this power in a controlled, ladder-like or gradual development, so that our understanding grows with this power, and when the development of this power has reached a threshold wear there is a definite and impressive qualitative leap in our world as a result of the development of this power, we are not overwhelmed and afraid, but ready and prepared, not fearing because we understand.
