I got a better question: where do I start with László Krasznahorkai?

What's the deal with László Krasznahorkai?
Is his work worth reading, is he based or is he cringe? With what other authors could he be compared with?
And assuming one would want to get into him, which Novel should one pick up first?
From reading the goodreads profile War and War seems the most interesting to me, or is that a bad start?

So is he the greatest novelist alive or just an inferior clone of Bernhard and Sebald? What is your favourite and least favourite work from him?
