>Why is Aristotle so influential among Abrahamic faiths as opposed to Plato?
Because Europeans in the Middle Ages had the Corpus Aristotelicum, and not the Corpus Platonicum, lol
They didn't hate Plato, they hardly even had him. Later in Umanesimo and Reinassance they (re-)start with the Greeks and they got super into Neoplatonism, however, the Reformation happened which meant protestants staying the hell out of the Greeks, and the Counter-Reformation going into the second scholasticism.

>In the case of Plato, the Middle Ages for all practical purposes had only the first part of the Timaeus (to 53c), hardly a typical Platonic dialogue, in a translation and commentary by a certain Calcidius (or Chalcidius). The Timaeus contains Plato’s cosmology, his account of the origin of the cosmos.
>This state of affairs lasted until the Renaissance, when Marsilio Ficino (1433–99) translated and commented on the complete works of Plato. Thus, except for roughly the first half of the Timaeus, the Middle Ages did not know the actual texts of Plato.

>whose dark humor and love of transgression for its own sake
No, not trasgression. One does not flee to the land of the lawless in order to break the law. One does not escape North Korea's labour camps with the purposes off being an edgy transgressive contrarian. Here be freedom and emancipation, not transgression. Not surprising that white Twitter pundits like Nagle don't understand the first thing of it. North American education is very effective, in fact increasingly more efficient, in creating yet another generation of utter reductionist idiots, with no lateral thinking or ability to self-criticize to save their lives.
>made it hard to know what political views were genuinely held
Maybe because there are no views that are genuinely held in the current year. You tell a pollster you vote Obama will close Guantanamo and not set North Africa and the Middle East on fire, or that Trump will MAGA and build a wall and make Mexico pay for it with the same sincerity you tell a child that Santa Claus exists, because pollsters and Nagle are indeed children that do think Santa Claus exists.

But how could she forget anti-semitism in her depiction of the alt-right as a united front with no differences or discrepancies? I know you're here, Angela, grow the fuck up and out of your categorizing thought, it's an ideological pair of blinders that prevents understanding. Then again you don't want to understand, you need an in-group out-group rhetoric just like the non-old left you supposedly criticize. You need someone to blame for Clinton's defeat and you cannot allow any of your sacred cows to be the guilty party, or otherwise primum movens of your manifold oppositions. Because there is nothing more 21st century marxist than to explain the US mainstream party landscape with a book on an insignificant, fragmentary "alt-right", and a pair of international websites yelling at one another, right? "An old leftist’s idea of what a young leftist should be." So old. So leftist.

>who had gravitated towards AnonOps IRCs suffered from a degree of state spying and repression during the height of Anonymous’s public profile from around 2010 to 2012. This absence of the more libertarian left-leaning element within chan culture created a vacuum in the image boards
Making shit up as usual. Our dumb broad here seems to think 1337 haxx0rz as true believer activists, instead of entertaining the notion that people could simply have a desire to give other people shit. She's been indoctrinated to see American democrats and republicans everywhere, incapable of understanding how international the people using this website are, particularly when "operations" and hackers and the illegal would be involved. She's worthless.

>It is like a Schrödinger's cat of sincerity and irony where the choice is based on whatever is politically convient at the time
Welcome to 21st century "genuinely held views."
