Well it's a very certain way to make sure you're not a victim of cuckoldry. In evolutionary psychology we learned an entire chapter on cuckoldry and the way male animals tried to avoid it. It's a big deal because if you're a victim of cuckoldry you basically unknowingly extinguished your line of genes while breaking your back to help spread other genes. It's the ultimate "getting dabbed on" moment for a male animal in nature.

The conclusion to the lesson was that the only certain way to avoid cuckoldry is to have a virgin partner. That's why human psychology evolved to reward finding a virgin female partner.

Also I never said that it's the only indication/prerequisite for having a faithful wife. It definitely helps though. Of course you need to be good at reading females and be interesting.
