Bukowski reads easy because he lived easy. Your eye can tread seamlessly across the pages prose without the need of a double scan, or a second thought. And that is precisely the point. His life did not invite struggles, so why would his prose demand any effort from his readers. His insights(These should be called Surface sights as they are the antithesis of depth) are as deep as any half-wit assumption we are better off ignoring. So, in sum. Bukowski sat at a type writer, wrote his observations peppered by his oily-shits (Probably from pancreatitis) and after being submitted to the editor for refinement, exhumed flagrance.
