I think Burgerpunk is basically a grounded version of cyberpunk. Even 1980s-era Dallas freeways were described as a "Blade Runner landscape", as described as by Joel Garreau. Colorful advertising only masks the real problems in society, a largely unhappy people that finds cheap joy in television programs as religion and spiritually fades into irrelevancy, and a society so open to immigration that it has created essential "no-go" zones where people largely don't speak the same language, and has eroded any sense of cultural identity. It shouldn't be CAPITALISM BAD or LOL AMERICANS.
