Studying mathematics is as much about the subjects as it is learning how to think, how to understand continuums of abstraction and application, building and working with logical frameworks and systems. In a more, maybe metaphysical sense, studying mathematics allows you to connect on a very intimate level with the thread of human knowledge and the truths of the natural world. Obviously I'm a bit biased but I think switching to mathematics entirely would be a good choice, but a better one might be combining economics and math, or math and business, or some other humanity/social science. I'm of the opiniont that finance degrees can be a bit of a meme, especially if you are attending an elite college/university. Graduating from a well known institution with a degree in math will set you up nicely for entry into a career in finance.

Very true, especially when reading a thread like this one. We should all be thankful to always have the appreciation of literature to lend perspective, understanding, and a shared arena for thought.

Great thread.
