this is the hardest I've ever laughed at a 4chan thread, but I feel kind of bad because if I was him and then I watched this interview later I'd feel bad, because I'm kind of aspie so I know that feel

protip: posting your writing on the internet (especially /lit/) is amateurish and unprofessional, if you want some actual feedback, join a writers' group, get someone you know to read it, or get some fucking confidence and write something you KNOW is good, and let the first person to take a look be your agent

you do not know what you are talking about, and should not so quick so lash out against that which you do not understand. genre fiction writers are considered puerile because they are often uneducated in literary theory, basic philosophy, etc. and so they just end up copying the pulp writers of the past and never create anything new, but instead publish within the same stale paradigms that have impressed the ignorant masses repeatedly over generations

tl;dr this shit isn't respected by the literary elite because anybody with a real education in literature knows that most pulp writers DON'T have educations in literature and just come up with the same uninspired bullshit instead of learning about what has already been done and experimenting in new areas. dumb people performing the same tricks for other dumb people because none of them know any better

there should be a sticky that explains this so that summerfags who come here and struggle to carve out an argument can know what they're up against

a lot of the writers /lit/ worships were smoking tobacco before tobacco was considered unhealthy by the majority of society
