What is the /lit/ consensus on who timothy mcveigh really was? Lone wolf or fed?

why have I only seen any mention of this 4chan, it's really well-written and well-researched. published 2016. glad it's been picked up by someone and it's selling but who started the meme? you should read this.

I took a class on religious violence in college. I've read Juergensmeyer and some other general stuff. But I want the meat and potatoes of a few groups and people (pic related.)
I am really interested in Timothy McVeigh and Aum Shinrikyo. I've read Murakami's Underground and am gonna pick up Religious Violence in Contemporary Japan after I finish this book on McVeigh. Any recommendations?
