>Freelance writing pays terribly to my understanding
i'm on a contract which pays a reasonable daily rate. i'm not a big spender so there's plenty left over.

>so I suppose that the investing is what's helping keep you afloat?
it gives me enough of an income that i don't really need to work. when i'm working, i just reinvest the income.

>Or maybe the wife?
she gets paid about the same as me. we have a joint account which we each pay into monthly, but apart from that we don't really interfere with each other's finances.

pic still unrelated

because he's popular, smart AND could beat the shit out of anyone on /lit/

he's a combination of the school bully that took /lit/'s lunch money, the sports star that got the girls, and the smarter kid in the class that /lit/ has tried to get the better of by pretending to read long books

he is all of /lit/'s long list of enemies in one person

Buying on amazon.co.uk:

Usually delivery is pretty fast. If I order something from Amazon themselves (and using the free delivery wherever possible), and a marketplace seller, in the same purchase, the marketplace order arrives first.

Condition varies. Usually "as new" isn't (but should have been listed as very good or good); "very good" usually is; "good" is very variable especially with older books and can mean anything from "pristine" to "shitty".

Often "good" means ex-library books so they have "withdrawn" etc stamped all over them and although the book itself is usually solid the sellers don't check for people having scrawled all over the pages and stuff like that.

Once I bought a book listed as "good" and the description said "contains some markings" but it was cheap so I bought it, and every line of every page had been highlighted in yellow. I have no idea why people do that shit.

Go to Japan
Stay in a hotel
Find the book "The Teachings of Buddha" that will be in your hotel room in the same way as there is a bible in most US hotel rooms
Steal the book
Note, stealing is bad karma. You will have to do something to get good karma back, or you will be reincarnated with a peanut allergy or something.
