This book, this is a good book.

Before this book I hadn't read fiction in years. My reading primarily consists of scientific articles and philosophy — I regrettably thought of fiction as a waste of time while I tried to fill my head with """""useful""""" knowledge that I can apply, not realizing that reading is valuable in and of itself

But when I read this book, I would find myself picking it back up at every opportunity, even waking up and immediately trying to see what will happen, something that I haven't done since I was a kid.

So, given that I am a plebian when it comes to literature, and that I like this book, can /lit/ recommend me a book to read next?

Best novels from the last ~10 years? I've read some Murakami but apart from that I haven't heard too much buzz about contemporary authors. Any suggestions?

I'm too lazy to actually post the whole thing, but I'm pretty sure that the Colonel Sanders guy in Kafka on the Shore is just a device that moves the story, breaks the "fourth wall", and more or less represents the reader and what they want.

Let's discuss this. I've just finished it. I must admit it's a great book and I'm not even bothered by the fact many things went over my head, although, I'd like to understand some things better. What's your interpretation? What did you think of it?

hey /lit/, I'm kinda tired of challenging literature right now. I was thinking of reading Murakami, because I've heard he's a fun read, what would you guys rec I read first
