>Be writing a novel with my father
>I write the story and he edits
>Says its really good
>Think he's just saying that since he's my dad
>Decide to print out the first chapter
>Show it to about 40 people at my community college
>Everyone says the same thing besides correcting minor grammar errors
>Continue working on the novel with my father
>One day get horrible news
>Dad has pancreatic cancer
>Try to finish as much as we can of the novel
>Eventually have to stop writing just because I'm too depressed
>Dad eventually passes
>Become unmotivated to do anything
>A year goes by of no work, school, etc.
>Living with my mother in the spare room
>Actually on suicide watch since I'm that depressed
>One day I start going through dads stuff
>Find our old notes and start reading through them
>Dig up the outline to the story
>Start writing where we left off and eventually finish it
>Take it to my grandmother who was an English teacher at a University for 30 years
>She helps me edit it
>I revise it a couple times
>During this time I'm getting back on my feet
