So what sort of meditation should one follow according to actual buddhism?

According to this pic which everyone on here refers to as actual buddhism there is the mind illuminated listed as meditation start which has jhanas and dry vipassana included?

Oh the first book i read was indeed from thich lmao. But it still lacked some proper meditating advice and felt like a light warm self help novel at times which still was nice

I then bought tolles power of now thing which focused on mindfullness, that had some deeper advice on stuff but it confused me aswell with the pure self all in one being thing which felt like a mystic novel aswell but the focus on mindfullness really helped easing off ruminating thoughts.

Then i got into jiddu krishnamurti who is said to be tolles inspiration and he helped me the most in self knowledge and showed me how im attached and biased to people, ideas, mental constructs where i derive security and self worth.

I want to learn and meditate more now because it feels good and want to see where this path takes me.

Now i saw this chart here, would you recommend going through it?

Read the references in "What The Buddha Taught" and "In The Buddha's Words" for terms and expressions you do not understand. The alleged chart may be helpful.
That's unless you lack basic education in philosophy, for which I guess you need to get a textbook like Durant's to orient yourself.

I'm assuming you've never read anything on Buddhism. Pic-related seems like a good place to start for Theravada Buddhism. I also think Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse is decent to tangentially learn about Buddhism. I'm also planning on reading the Upanishads because it seems like Buddhism is a reaction to (or builds on) Hinduism.

This is the only chart about buddhism on the /lit/ wiki. How can it be improved?
I'm perplexed by the fact that it sees itself as "non sectarian" yet mentions none of the mahayana sutras.
