>Since sight and hearing, etc., and
>Feeling, etc., exist,
>He who has and uses them
>Must exist prior to those, some say.

>If there were no existent thing,
>How could seeing, etc., arise?
>It follows from this that prior to this,
>there is an existent thing.

>How is an entity existing prior to
>Seeing, hearing, etc., and
>The felt, etc.,
>Itself known?

>If it can abide
>Without the seen, etc.,
>Then, without a doubt,
>They can abide without it
- Nagarjuna, Fundamental Wisdom of the Middle Way

>To say “it is” is to grasp for permanence.
>To say “it is not” is to adopt the view of nihilism.
>Therefore a wise person
>Does not say “exists” or “does not exist.”

>”Whatever exists through its essence
>Cannot be nonexistent” is eternalism.
>”It existed before but doesn’t now”
>Entails the error of nihilism.
- Nagarjuna, Fundamental Wisdom of the Middle Way

>Whatever comes into being dependent on another
>Is not identical to that thing.
>Nor is it different from it.
>Therefore it is neither nonexistent in time nor permanent.
- Nagarjuna, Fundamental Wisdom of the Middle Way

>Nāmarūpa-samudayā cittassa samudayo.
>Nāmarūpa-nirodhā cittassa atthagamo.
>From the origination of name-and-form is the origination of the mind.
>From the cessation of name-and-form is the cessation of the mind.

you retards coudent tell what buddhism is if it came out your ass, the buddhism all you twats refer to comes from the Hīnayāna which is the shitty retarded version of the original doctrines compared with the Mahāyāna which stays way truer to the doctrines. You all are fascinated with a buddhism that is most likely the farthest and least familiar with any eastern doctrines aka not buddhism but some shit Westerners love to praise. As a student studying Traditionalism but more so the orientals i can't help but cringe everytime I see you discuss "Buddhism" its more so some-shit the Westerners took in and adapted to their imagination. You guys think you can follow some chart (like pic-related) and become a Eastern monk and maybe even understand Buddhism itself? gtfo, read guenon's first book so you can get rid of your western prejudices

Also, that image above is from A Mind For Numbers. It's the basic studying rules the book presents. Honestly the list is, Imo, the most important part.

Happy to help
Here's an obligatory plug of the Buddhism chart that's been going around, if you're interested.
I've been reading a lot of Nāgārjuna lately, and it is incredibly profound (I am almost certain, however, that it'd make little to no sense to me if I didn't already have a decent knowledge of dependent origination from reading suttas and Nyanananda).

Is this the guide you're referring to? I'd say it's all pretty good, since the entire chart is just the foundational texts, Nāgārjuna (considered the "second Buddha" by some schools, which is debatable, but regardless, his importance is undeniable and he's a juggernaut of Buddhist philosophy), and works by monks.
The only exceptions are The Mind Illuminated and Right Concentration which are written by lay followers, and can be considered inauthentic because of that. Personally I just think The Mind Illuminated is a bit weird cause of the secularist tendencies of the author and his attempts at looking like some sort of guru, but the actual instructions are generally solid. I am yet to find fault with Right Concentration. You can ignore these works if you want. Again, the rest are all canonical texts and works by monks.

For Zen read the Platform Sutra, Diamond Sutra and the Record of Linji (after getting a strong basis in the earliest foundational teachings).
For Buddhist history, read Buddhist India by TW Rhys Davids, and A History of Buddhist Philosophy: Continuities and Discontinuities by David Kalupahana.

Schopenhauer got Buddhism wrong. It's like he understood the first Noble Truth to some degree, misunderstood the second Noble Truth, and forgot the other two even existed at all.
