Don't know if trolling...

The "Mad Arab" Abdul Alhazred is a character by Lovecraft. In the stories, particularly the Cthulhu Mythos, he is credited with writing the Necronomicon, the Book of the Dead... supposedly bound in human flesh and written in human blood and all that. I was to understand that it was something Lovecraft made up in his stories, like he did Von Junztz (sp? not going to look it up) and his "Unspeakable Cults", "Untespraachen Kulten" or something like that.

...although now it occurs to me you may be talking about a book ABOUT Alhazred, which could very easily have been written about... Is that it? They have people who claim to have versions or quote from copies of the Necronomicon I think, but I don't think its real. Anyone more learned in the Cthulhu Mythos care to correct me if necessary? I'm not that versed in Lovecraft... yet.

>once sane man
>not so sane anymore
>recalls his dissent into horror with the vernacular of an English professor
>is from Arkham
>Travels a lot in his journey
>Ends up not being able to describe what made him insane because its ultimately an ineffable horror at the base of reality
>HP Lovecraft

and guess what, I dont give a shit because HP lovecraft is fucking awesome.

dude, read the the shadow out of space, then dagon, then the outsider by lovecraft, then call of cthulhu. Read them at night, read them alone.

I largely dismiss the concept of gender.
