Now imagine a Middle Eastern cohort or a Deming prize or a physics prize that has mostly nonAmerican STEM pros there. Lots of Asians. Everyone is hierarchy conscious here. Someone like Stephen Hawking is highly regarded in highest respect. American partybro customs quickly go out the window for collegiate candor. Likewise Japanese culture being so hierarchical beyond honorifics, 4chan is hierarchy conscious in our memes. Endearment is stronger here amidst all the "internet hate machine" than on agreeable leddit.

You are right that philosophy is pointless. It got replaced with science, a much superior method for trying to gain the truth about the universe:
>Philosophy is dead. Philosophers have not kept up with modern developments in science, particularly physics. Scientists have become the bearers of the torch of discovery in our quest for knowledge.
- Stephen Hawking

Once you've realised the final philosophical truth - that God doesn't exist - there's no more philosophy to do.

Also, Stephen Hawking was correct:
>Philosophy is dead. Philosophers have not kept up with modern developments in science, particularly physics. Scientists have become the bearers of the torch of discovery in our quest for knowledge.

>At Google's Zeitgeist Conference in 2011, Hawking said that "philosophy is dead." He believes philosophers "have not kept up with modern developments in science" and that scientists "have become the bearers of the torch of discovery in our quest for knowledge." He said that philosophical problems can be answered by science, particularly new scientific theories which "lead us to a new and very different picture of the universe and our place in it"

Discuss.
