Yes OP, you should, I'd give reading it a shot if you do make something. If you wanna see what's possible, one of my favorite works of writing is Jon Bois's 17776, a story of what football may look like deep into the future (it's pretty heavy on the multimedia, though):

The internet is a great great tool to make stuff that goes further than what most social media has to offer, and if you make your own website, the possibilities are endless. I think HTML and CSS are art tools just by themselves - couple that with creative writing, you can do great stuff.
