Is the slip of time something you can fight or at least numb with you life's accomplishments? Or are most people destined to drag out their lives until they die alone, no matter what they do?

Do you guys think that it is possible to feel complete and satisfied with life? I feel like every dream or goal achieved offers a brief satisfaction until the feeling of uselessness/boredom pops up again and brings with it new dreams and goals we didn't know we had. We then start chasing them without ever having the opportunity to be properly content because the cycle is always restarting.
