/lit/ what good books about cosmic horror you recomend?
or every post lovecraft story about the cthulhu mythos are only bad fanfiction?

Because i want to write a cosmic horror short story, but using lovecraft mora as a reference and inspiration than using his full mythos, in fact i want to use the mythology of the island of chiloe from my country Chile and some of the crazy theories of Miguel Serrano (Chilean mad nazi writer)

So I want to get into the world of Lovecraftian horror. However, looking up on books and shit shows there's a crap load of compilations, collections, volumes and selected bundles that vary in content.

I am hoping to read everything he's written, btw. So is there THE collection of stories that one can buy when they want to read all of Lovecraft's work?

Hello /lit/, I have some questions about Lovecraft stories. I've been reading Tales, and while there are a lot of really good horror stories in there, a lot of them seem boring and predictable. I mean, there's like 3 or 4 about reanimating the dead, and others that I just couldn't get interested in. The ones revolving around the Old Ones mythos are all pretty good, and I was wondering if there is any sort of encyclopedic work I could find that links them all together, and if you guys could suggest other stories by Lovecraft that fall into the same theme. So far I have read Call of Cthulu, Color Out of Space, The Mountains of Madness, The Shadow out of Innsmouth, and maybe some others that revolve around the Old Ones. I've read several of the other stories in the book, and am currently working through Nightmares at Witch House. One of the ones I couldn't finish was The Case of Dexter Ward, because of the insane amount of detail there was about the daily walks the character would take around town. It seems to be a problem that Lovecraft had, adding in way too much seemingly unrelated details.

I would greatly appreciate any help you guys could give me, because I have been wanting to read more, and have always wanted to read things by Lovecraft.
