OP, you're the single emotionally weakest person I've ever encountered. How much of a box have you been living in if these sort of things scare you? It's a big, scary, uncaring world. Get the fuck over it.

Killing animals isn't wrong because they can only feel stimuli and not emotions.

That...wasn't what I was saying at all. I'm curious about reading them, just to improve my skills, but I know she's overestimating me. I realize I'm not at that level yet. Didn't help that she wanted me to translate a goddamn poem.

Determinism. The fact that all your thoughts are chemical processes inside your brain means that they are bound by physical laws to happen a certain way. Sure, you may take a decision, but that decision was only taken because of the chemical state your brain was in, which again is determined by physical laws. This means that you never had a true choice, ergo, free will doesn't exist. Free will as you see it is an illusion, lack of it or not.

Anyway I tried several methods: SRS and Pimsleur are among the best, immersion is key too: putting aside the learning context worked wonders for me

Also, around 2 months ago I started drawing, right away with a bamboo tablet, so far I'm going well (I can't paint yet, but I've got some good critique of my completed works), I've been using vilppu and a bit of loomis as reference material.

"Drawing with the right side of the brain" was totally useless in my case. I think it made me too self-conscious about the drawing process
