I honestly wish there was a reliable collection of commented classics (old and modern), Folio is not always that good. I fell for the meme a few times, like with this beautiful leatherbound edition of Tolkien's translation of the poetic Edda. This is what I have at my parent's, but I even have somewhere 'King Lear' in the most memesque Folio edition, the huge 17th century style one worthy of American Psycho's card scene.

I mostly buy good but cheap paperback editions (slightly better than Penguin), and I vaguely intend to have the ones I keep leatherbound at some point. Someone in my family did this (he found a cheap craftsman in Morrocco), it looks pretty good.
