Why is he so obsessed with brother-sister incest? He wrote an entire novel about it (Outer Dark) and now his latest novel (The Passenger) also has such a relationship, this time with a schizophrenic Jewess and her brother. What is wrong with him? Is it an American thing?

I just read “The Kekulé Problem”

How the fuck did a brainlet like him write so many good books? He’s literally a kook. Does he have dementia now?

Blood Meridian, Suttree, All the Pretty Horses, and The Orchard Keeper were all great books. How did he do it? Is this like the Raymond Carver and Gordon Lish debacle? Did he have an editor who took out all the retarded stuff?

What does /lit/ think of Cormac McCarthy?

Personally, I really enjoyed reading No Country For Old Men, but The Road was a fucking bore and everything else I have tried to read was hit or miss.

Outside of pic related, who doesn't even count since he's part of an older generation and is about to die anyway, are there any writers in current year that are worth anything? Or is our generation so devoid of talent that none of them are good? Are current writers ignored because they're not recognized yet so pseuds ignore them because they're not elitist enough?

I just love him so much, bros. I'm trying so hard to find other authors I can enjoy, but now every single time I try someone else I just know they're awful and incomparable to my Cormac. What am I to do?
