I would stop wasting my time hating something. I would focus on things you can control, yourself, and not things you can't, the people outside of you, the real ones, not the spooks in your head.

Read Plato, look at the Socratic dialogues, pick up a basic logic textbook.

Come back to the things you hate after that. Honestly why do you waste your time thinking about billions of people you will never meet. Don't give me that "I was born into and must deal with society", you can do that without wasting your time hating spooks.

Star Wars IS more complex than Dune if we are talking about episodes 4-6.

The original trilogy at least has its mantra of don't think, do, coming from Yoda. This isn't some breath taking piece of philosophy but it is a pragmatic solution to trying to teach someone something. Believe in the master, that is it, have faith, no fear.

You can then debate about the consequences but at least it does something, at all.

Dune?
HE SPEAKS TRUTH
what do you mean by he sp-
BY GOD THE BOY SPEAKS TRUTH

SPICE

REAL POLITIK

I CAN SEE THE FUTU-KIND OF THE FUTURE

It is just mystical ramblings that don't do anything besides acting as a parade for the reader.

For Star Wars Luke faces a crisis on how he deals with his powers. Paul in Dune never does. The book outright tells you in the beginning he is a child-prophet-God and as soon as he finds out he has powers he becomes the most smug piece of shit child-prophet-God you have ever seen. He has no crisis, the author just wants him to say cool lines.

That's it.

The intention of making it a personal gesture is good but, anon, hollowing out the book?

No. That is trashy and tacky at the same time.

If you can find another way with this idea then fine, but that is just ugly.

Maybe you should talk to her friends about this. Like another anon said it shouldn't surprise her completely that you are going to propose, just when and how.

Also why the fuck are you spending so much money on a ring nigga are you serious do you think this is 1993 or something?

Get that material shit out of here and keep that money for everything else you will need to do that will matter when getting married.

I don't mean the fucking ceremony.

For fuck sakes a hollowed book.

A Perfect Day for Bananafish, The Dead, Forever Overhead, and Babylon Revisited.

However they all have different variants of melancholy. Bananafish is short and blunt with the problem at hand, but is cryptic about what the problem really is, and arguably cant be figured out.

The Dead is probably what you are looking for.

Forever Overhead is nostalgia for boys older than 16.

Babylon Revisited is just classic sad.

Carver can be pretty white trash sad at some points. Stick with Joyce though, hes the only one on that list that has a sense of subtlety for proper melancholy.

It is a joke. Some anon just kept saying it over and over and other anons decided to do the same. There is no evidence for it in the book.

She is behaving strangely because her brother is home when he should be in school.

There is nothing going on just because he goes home after trying to be romantic with girls he knows/girls he was told to call. With your way of thinking he must never go and see phoebe after he does this or else it is evidence of rape.
