Is there a book that is truly scary? i haven't read so many horror books but the ones I've read honestly haven't scared me, I think that's weird considering that I came from lurking the creepy greentext thread on /x/ and I felt more frightened by those greentext than the books I've read

What are some books like this that criticize entire philosophical traditions in book-length treatment? I only know this one and Ernest Gellner's Words and Things, which polemically criticizes ordinary language philosophy. I've read smaller books against postmodernism but they didn't do the thing of targeting specific authors each chapter and criticizing them directly. What are other books that do that?

What /lit/ activities can I partake in while at work?
I can't read a book, mostly because I get too sleepy doing so and sleeping at work is a big no-go.
Also shitposting here gets tiring after awhile and I like you guys so I never go too hardcore.

I submitted some cringe poems to a magazine in early June and haven't heard anything back though they said it could take up to 3 months.
It was my first time ever submitting anything for publication.

How does one contribute to society?

I read a bit of the first book yesterday out of curiosity even though I know the story from the primer that is Hamilton's Mythology.
It was enjoyable but I did find myself wiki searching at least one to two words per paragraph since I was either unfamiliar with the familial name or the location.
Is that normal?

Doesn't the seeming ubiquitousness of flood myths around the world indicate that something must have actually happened to inspire them all? What if there WAS a huge global flood, long ago?
