Does the perception of the destruction of something beautiful include the perception of beauty?
If someones goal were to perceive beauty, would it be better to see the destruction of it or to perceive nothing at all?

Reality isn't a school. I don't believe in the perfectibility of the light because the light is already perfect. Any books on how Enlightenment belief in the perfectibility of man became the "love & light" slop of today?

Actually there isn't a Satan character in the Bible in the first place. It's a later creation that merges disparate events and characters into one character. The titular Satan is just a word for "the adversary" and is an angel given the task of playing that part in that story. There's no overarching "renegade angel" story in the Bible.

If Christians were serious about what Jesus taught they'd have to remove half the doctrines they believe. The amount of fanfiction added over the years is astounding. Consider that the whole idea of Jesus being born to a "virgin" stems from a mistranslation of the OT from hebrew to greek, where young woman is changed into virgin. It's also a story that's not a prophecy in context to begin with. You'd think this point would have been obvious since it's plain to read that Jesus had brothers. In fact more mental gymnastics have been made trying to justify Mary being a virgin despite Jesus having ordinary flesh and blood brothers than just accepting there's a clearly discernible translation error that's compounded over the years. All this bullshit, all the Mary mysticism, it falls away from simply going back and examining the sources.

Astoundingly virtually no believers care to do so. I can't imagine thinking you have the literal word of God existing in this world and having zero curiosity in finding out what it really says.
