There is a kind of hatred which is peculiar to modern man. Modern man hates himself. This hatred that modern man experiences comes from an abandonment of his very nature, an infidelity to what man essentially is.

In this work, Marcel De Corte (1905-1994), one of the great Thomists of the 20th century, examines the sources and the remedy of the curious malady which so marks modern man and Western Civilization today. De Corte establishes that the salvation of our civilization lies in a return to a natural politics and supernatural religion.
