I hate to break it to you OP, but western philosophy has been undermining and rebuilding it's bedrock for thousands of years. Refuting Plato or Aristotle nowadays isn't going to send philosophers scrambling trying to salvage their teetering tower. At best you'd get a few raised eyebrows, but mostly people would ask why you're even bothering.

It means you will one day be buried alive by them in a book avalanche. The tragicomic story of your death will then be told for generations by old ladies to their grandchildren as a kind of modern-day aesop's fable about greed and temptation.

From my experience Ontology isn't really treated in isolation from Metaphysics except in weird stuff like Meinong. So just read metaphysics and you'll get ontology with it.
