I dunno, I've been coming to 4chan since 2007, and I've been coming to /lit/ since it was created, and I still enjoy this place. You can still find good discussion if you look in the right place, or start it yourself by starting a thread.

Honestly, I spend more time on 4chan than anywhere else on the internet these days. All the old forums and message boards I used to go to for discussions are either dead or deleted. Even with bots, spam, AI, /pol/, what have you, this is still basically the best place on the internet to talk about whatever is on-topic for a particular board. I don't even go on Discord any more, I never really have.

>Further discover that Rome has been in full-blown apostsasy since at least the 15th century, markedly since 'Pope' Eugene IV commissioned the idolatrous Filarete doors of St. Peter's

Anon, one set of doors, in one cathedral, doesn't invalidate the Church.

A shitty Pope doesn't invalidate the Church, either. You've clearly read some Church history so you must know we've had quite a few shitty Popes, the Church has endured.

I suggest you start praying the Rosary, or perhaps the Liturgy of the Hours. A daily devotion will strengthen your faith.

I do not understand the essentially suicidal attitude of so many modern Europeans. They should be fighting tooth and nail to save their countries, including doing everything possible to increase their birth rates and violently opposing migrants from Africa and the Middle East. Instead they seem content to go extinct and be overrun.

What creates this attitude in someone? I do not understand this total lack of vitality in a person, let alone in a continent.

>random discussion/shitposting about the Catholic Church interspersed throughout

What a weird thread.

So, Peterson is as popular as he is because he's basically a dad, right?

An entire generation of young men raised by single mothers or with absent fathers, craving a father figure. Some solid, firmly-spoken, plain, common sense pillar of masculinity who can communicate to them basic truths of the world. That's what all these young men are craving, and that's what Peterson gives them. That's why he's so popular, he's a generation's surrogate father.

I don't mind threads about philosophy, but why on earth don't the obvious bait threads get taken care of? The "books for this feel" threads, the obvious political or culture war baiting threads, the threads that are just a clear shitpost based on something that recently happened in the news. Those threads should be deleted within the hour, but sometimes they'll stay up for days. Why the fuck don't the mods on this board do their jobs, even when what they should be doing is blindingly obivous?

Have you people ever stopped and really assessed what you are attempting to do with all this "hermeticism" and "traditionalism" shit? Does it occur to you at all that this all literally sounds like some kind of power fantasy that a 15-year-old would have?

Am I the only one who thinks the "decline" of 4chan is kind of overstated? Maybe it's just the boards and the threads that I visit, but I've been coming here since 2007 and maybe it's gotten a little bit worse, but it doesn't feel like it's gotten exponentially worse. I feel like I can still have intelligent conversations with people on the various boards I visit. Sure, there's a lot of shitposting and low-effort posting going on, too, but that was ALWAYS here. I feel like people who think that 4chan was vastly better in the past are looking at things through rose-tinted glasses. Has there been some decline? Yes, just like the entire internet has declined to an extent. But I can't agree with the idea that the decline is huge. I still enjoy coming here. There's even still effortposting that gets a positive response, as evidenced by this very thread.

I don't know about this. You're either trying to be funny or sexy and so far it isn't either. Especially after the exposition on how there were gods and shit like that.
