An author whose works is so good that only another write is likely to appreciate the nuances and finesse (about which no one except other writers probably give a shit about).
I think a lot of people like this wrote for themselves, not to attract an audience, hence the original and unadulterated expression which only the true /lit/erati can appreciate

A good writer knows when he writes shit. He burns it or rewrites it, and will not put it out there until it's good.
