<Picture attached> is a great and very under-appreciated work. It covers most of the basic devices of rhetoric, and gives lots of good, mostly modern examples, so you can really see them in action.

I think this is pretty good. He goes through most of the main rhetorical devices and gives loads of examples, many from current usage, and you really see why they make stuff sound cool & forceful.

Strunk & White is a cliché but good at killing off pretentiousness. <Pic attached> is really good I think. Covers most (not all) of the basic methods of classical rhetoric, with lots of good modern examples.
