Charles Dickens - great expectations, it was one of the first books '/lit/ approved' books that I started reading but it is the most boring book I've ever read.

morality isn't corrupted, people just get deceived or receive false teachings. Of course exploitation exists, I never denied that.
But what is actually moral remains lasting.

my point was that worthwhile art elevates man spiritually and morally, it doesn't just end at aesthetic appreciation. The moral and spiritual dimensions will in turn make man less greedy, less egoistic, less ignorant, and less susceptible to capitalist advertising or socialist indoctrination.
