This might be a retarded question, but how do you lot practice Memento Mori? There are plenty of things I want to see, read and do until I die, but I live as if I had infinite time.

Wonderful prose is of course a great thing, but do you have any examples of books that strike a nice balance between good prose and a compelling plot?

Yes he's a clinical psychologist specializing in cognitive behavioral therapy and his own stylized take on humanistic psychotherapy. The former has a solid scientific basis but the other stuff is a bit more fluffy.

If you oppose fiction so vehemently, what is it you read exactly?
Biographies, reportages and lit documentaries?

What is /lit/'s opinion on audio books?

If positive, can you recommend any great ones whose narration you particularly enjoyed? Were there any where you enjoyed the audio even more than reading the book?

Do you have some policy of "I only listen to X kinds of books, I like to always read Y" or is it free for all?

If negative, why do you dislike them? Do you feel they're inherently inferior to actually reading a book?

Does it even matter in what format you consume a book as long as its ideas get into your head?

Is there any software to organize your books? I really need to have a catalogue. I would do it by hand, but i think it's better to have one digital. I want to keep record on how many books i have and also those that i have lend to a friend.

I know that this kind of catalogue is doable using Excel, but i'm having a hard time learning how it works and i think there must be some kind of userfriendly software out there.

Hello, /lit/

I didn't know in wich language should i create this thread. I wan't to discuss, recommend and such on spanish literature. Only books that have been written in spanish, no translations. (Altho' good translations for good books are allowed somehow).

I thought that spanish would be ideal, but i think that there're some english speakers that also read in spanish and wouldn't care about this if it's all in spanish. Besides, language wars can emmerge and i don't like that.

Anyway.I'll recommend three novels that anyone reading in spanish should read (and its editorial houses).

El obsceno pájaro de la noche. José Donoso. (can be found in Alfaguara)
La novela luminosa. Mario Levrero (can be found in Random House Mondadori)
Farabeuph o Anatomía de un instante (can be found in Fondo de cultura económica).

I feel like this is the appropriate place to post this, so here it is: I'm starting a writing blog which is based around my sarcastic, cynical, and realistic views on various things that I hope some will find amusing. I'm simply trying to gain whatever publicity I can as well as attempt to build up my portfolio as a writer.

I'm debating on what the title of my blog should be, considering it needs to be short, catchy, and easy to remember. As of right now, the only title I've thought of is "Sarcastique et Cynique". Kind of lame, I know. Anyone want to help me out on /lit/?
