Welp, now that Dune has been given over to the normies, what's our new normie-free weird sci-fi book?

I almost want to say The Book of the New Sun, but it feels like that's becoming normie-filled too, I've seen it mentioned on fucking Twitter of all places.

Anyone else read the Dune books? I read and liked the first one but am undecided about buying the rest of the series.

I started listening to the first book. I like it but half the time I have no idea who’s talking or what the houses are. The names are so complex. I dunno why authors in fantasy must use weird hard to remember names when creating fantasy. It’s kept me from starting lord of the rings and other fantasy. You can use made up names but just make it more simple, please.

So let me get this strait: Dune describes tens of thousands of years of space drama with humanity rejecting AI as they spread out through the stars. Do the books ever touch on the fact that they would be absolutely fucking annihilated if they DID ever stumble onto a post singularity AI? It’d be superior in every way.
