Why isn't there a board for writers, writing, and critique?

We have both /i/ and /ic/, but all writers have is /lit/ and it's single critique thread. Why not have a /litc/ ?

How did you get over the fact that you'll never be a published writer? Looking for advice on how to come to terms with my own situation.

>Reading some genre trash
>"Damn, I could write better than this"
>Sit down and write for 30 minutes
>Read it over
>It's genre trash

Is getting published a matter of just not caring that you're writing genre trash?

Fill in the blanks. You can fill in blanks with more than one word if you wish:

>"There are two kinds of writers, those that __________ and those that ___________"

Just finished reading Zola's "The Masterpiece" and I fucking loved it.

What other books out there are like it, in terms of subject? I'm looking for more good narratives about artists (Not just painters but also sculptors and writers and musicians and etc.) and their struggles with the artistic process.

Were there ever Writers Guilds back in that late-medieval to late-renaissance period? I know there were guilds of pretty much any craft and art you could think of, but you never hear anything about Writers Guilds during those times.

Does anyone have a good book on the history of writing during this time period?

Why is short story writing now a days treated as simply "It's like a regular story, just with no real beginning and no real ending"?

It makes most literary journals unbearable to read

>Spend more time worrying about the eye colour of one of my characters than the actual plot and word-choice of the work she's in

I know this is bad.

But which do you think goes better with blonde hair: blue or green eyes?
