I'm being a retard but what is the book where a woman gets married married and moves in with the guy, he has his ex wives portrait on the wall and stuff. The governess is a proper bitch and misses the guys old wife and she makes his new wife wear her dress and shit. It turns out the guys wife killed herself or some shit and I think they burn the house down.
The title of the book is a womans name iirc.

What's your opinion on short stories, /lit/? Do you like them better than whole books, or trilogies and the like?

I like to read short stories before I go to sleep. They keep me from staying up reading all night.
