Comfy books where nothing really happens and there are low to zero stakes? Thinking "The wind in the willows"

Hey, /lit/ bros! I am seeking input as a guy who isn’t very well-read. The only two pieces of literature that I have read since highschool have been ‘1984’ and ‘Mein Kampf’, outside of that it has been only science textbooks/papers (t. university student). Contrary to my lack of reading, I include reading as a hobby on my resumè to appear more rounded than I actually am. In my previous research interview I was asked what my favourite book was, and stumbled before saying “I’m not sure, I just finished 1984 and that was an enriching read” or something to that effect.

Basically, what should I begin reading that makes me more palatable in discussing literature with others? I had intended on beginning casual reading as a hobby, but hadn’t been exposed to a book that interested me more than the alternative of listening to a podcast. I’m open to any suggestions!

So the alleged ass + book pics? Just a touch of fun for the /lit/lads? Not poking fun at you, just curious why someone like you shitposts here. I thought it was all crusty semi-scholars smoking darts and drinking black java.
