After the Ulysses is over, anyone want to read Finnegans Wake?

Is it just me or does the difficulty ramp up once you hit 1.3 and 1.4? I thought the first two chapters were relatively straightforward in a way, but I'm on chapter 4 right now and I'm really lost. It feels like random nonsense whereas the first three chapters were structured in little digestible episodes (the Museyroom, Prankqueen, the rumors about HCE, the fight at the gate, etc.)

What did HCE do to those girls in the park and why does it matter so much?
