How am I supposed to feel about this

How do some writers write so well from the mindset of people very different to them? (Rapists, pedophiles, mentally ill etc)?

Usually people say you write what you know, but certain writers manage to make vivid internal narrations from people like the above that make them sound believable and normal.

Is this a natural empathy or a learned skill, do you think?

This novel was surprisingly good. Made the descriptions of the main character manipulating people and her inner thoughts and later acts very vivid and disturbing.

It’s kind of like Lolita I guess, but the main characters feels a lot more sociopathic and less in denial of their own urges and wants. And far more self aware of things.

Trigger warnings as the plot is essentially about a 26 year old female teachers long term manipulation of a student to try and molest/Rape them, and her own personal life where she pretends to be normal with a husband but secretly she’s only attracted to young teenage boys.

Anyone else read it?

Are there more books like this one?, I could accept mangas.

This is basically a genderbent Lolita but without the beautiful prose. Teacher is sexually obsessed with young boys and structures her entire life around catching them. Still one of the hottest books I've ever read, although it was probably meant to shock rather than arouse.

This one is tucked away in a corner.
