I would consider myself a frequent reader, but whenever someone points me to non-fiction, I find that I can't digest it.
I simply cannot remember ever learning anything from a book, that appears as a rule or a fact.
To the point that I have a certain level of disbelief over the usefulness of having these books, even if they are considered crucial reads.

I can't get it to click, or drop in. I've experimented with different types of notemaking and still I walk away from these books as if I barely even read them. Is there any way to get information to 'click'?
Almost all my learning over the years has invisible to me and complete chance to whether I remember it.

It's fermented in the bottle and, like the best French champagne, it's vintage, dated...
