I remember on /int/ this Moroccan guy recommended some books on how to summon Djinn. It sounded cool as fuck, but I don't remember them and I forgot to screenshot his post.

>Finnegans Wake
I recently read the "Critical response and themes" portion of the wikipedia article, and it made it sound like it's just about the most interesting book ever written. I played with the opening sentence fragment, providede by the wiki, for 5-10 minutes and was able to discern several different possible meanings or interpretations based solely on the language, which I found wonderful and intriguing.

Then, thinking "this doesn't actually seem /that/ difficult", I read/listened to the last part of "Anna Livia Pluarabelle"

Fuck, dude. Fuck. What the fuck. I don't think I really understand it. I thought from the opening line that maybe I stood a chance against this book, but now I can't say that I would ever be prepared for it. It seems as if *every single* individual line would take more scrutiny than I gave the opening one. That's insane. It would take years to "fully comprehend", and even then I don't think it would be "full". That is insane.

Has anyone here actually read Finnegans Wake?

Fin again's (a)wake? End again then wake? The end again is awake, but is the beginning and thus is a circle? I don't even know what the fuck the book is really all about (besides the admittedly plenty of information in the portion of the wiki I read) and even the title can be taken to mean different things. God damn.

And is everything about poop and sex things? One meaning I "found", though I don't know if I can say that, in the first sentence is the description of a woman's private areas, ending with her "ass hole and" what is around it. Maybe not even necessarily a woman's. Is that to any degree correct? And there's lots of sex/poop/butthole stuff in Anna Livia that I saw. Is my mind in the gutter? Is it intended?

I haven't even read the goddamn thing, or Ulysses. It's piqued (an understatement) my interest, but I'm afraid it's too complex for me, and what's more is that I don't know if I'd ever be able to read it, much as I'd like to

>tfw religion is looking more and more viable as your existential crisis intensifies

How can anyone turn to atheism for answers? Why are they all so full of themselves in thinking that they know it all? I just don't get it.
