To paraphrase Aristotle, you must first achieve αὐτάρκεια (self-sufficiency) so that you won't have to bend your morals to appease your boss/company. Naturally this is hard to do when young and you want to live in the hustle bustle of a city. All you need is a garden and books. But who wants to give up their $3k/month studio apartment. The voluntary death must first be confronted.
