This book was influenced by Hellenistic philosophy. An encouraging call to hedonism

It was meant to be ironic and hilarious

>right brain
This implies we can perceive more free will if we are right brain dominant. Right brain audio and visual entrainment would theoretically provide this.
>animal judgment is held to be instinctive since they lack intellect
Lack of impulse control. Man can be compared to monkey. If he doesn't resist his urges, his will runs all over the place. It escapes him. He loses control of himself to his urges. He loses control over food, his productivity, and his mind when it comes to sex.

Cultivating free will goes hand in hand with resisting impulse. Monkey thinks he can do whatever he wants. It always comes with consequences.

Nope. That's still monkey being monkey. Quantum interpretations lead to probabilistic views of free will (and states of entanglement) But that's all we've got so far, not much else in terms of solving the hard consciousness problem

Monkey can make up whatever names/concepts he wants. Whatever helps him sleep at night

What if a hypothetical Good Samaritan (who does good deeds) had faith in an omnipotent deity (but -not- the one from the Bible)?

Let's say the Good Samaritan was cognitively impaired, or just illiterate. Or, his nation was illiterate.

What if he never heard, or never was taught to read the Bible? Would God punish him for all eternity, although he technically has faith and good deeds?

Is he classified as a pagan? Does he deserve to burn in hell?

Does that still make God benevolent and fair? Would God still be loving?

Why would he create a man, invent hypothetical ideals, and then torture a man for eternity? Due to no fault of his own.

Does the hypothetical Good Samaritan have free will in that case? Does he have any choice regarding his afterlife?
